Job Description

Position Summary

This position is responsible for banking transactional activity, payment runs, associate expense reporting and system management, managing corporate credit card program, banking reconciliations and accounting for cash transactions.  This position generates a high volume of transactions on a daily basis.  This position requires a high degree of customer service capabilities to assist group companies with varying needs. Seeking a candidate who embraces continuous learning and is open to project work.

Essential Position Duties

Banking Responsibilities

  • Process wire transfer request
  • Prepare payment runs
  • Prepare intercompany payments
  • Set-up wire and ACH templates
  • Monitor bank balances
  • Trouble shoot banking issues
  • Consolidate group company international payment files
  • Provide customer service assistance to group company with banking issues
  • Prepare annual 1099 and T4A tax forms for multiple companies
  • Maintain strong relationships with banking entities
  • Assist in new bank account set-ups

Accounting responsibilities

·       Update, verify and maintain accounting journals and ledgers and other financial records for cash

·       Assist in month end closing and reporting

  • Find and use accounting data to resolve accounting problems and discrepancies within cash
  • Lead expense reporting system and process (Concur)
  • Maintain corporate credit cards and monthly statements
  • Liaison with other departments/customers/vendors
  • Bank statement owner and reconciler
  • Maintain fixed asset accounts
  • Conduct physical inventory of assets

Education, Experience & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • 3-5 years' experience in clerical accounting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Working knowledge of SAP
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and procedures (GAAP) and IFRS
  • Key competencies include: planning and organizing, attention to detail, problem-solving, teamwork, written and verbal communication skills, and a customer service orientation

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

Individuals must sit or stand throughout the workday as needed to perform essential functions.  May require walking primarily on a level surface for periodic periods throughout the day. Reaching above shoulder heights, below the waist or lifting as required to file documents or store materials throughout the work day. Proper lifting techniques required. May include lifting up to 25 pounds for files, computer printouts on occasion. Ability to concentrate, read and comprehend complex data.  Frequent handling of documents, computer hardware and use of computer and telephone.  Primary environment: ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment.

Travel

Travel within North America may be required (up to 25%, but possibly as high as 40%).  Ability to drive safely and valid driver’s license required.  Possibly two international trips may be required; therefore, a valid passport is required.
