The Central Arizona College Fire Science Department is seeking several part-time adjunct faculty to teach various courses face-to-face or online, either virtually via synchronous live video streaming, or via asynchronous online modalities. |

Education And Experience: Central Arizona College Fire Science Instructor qualification requirements will vary depending on an individual’s ability to demonstrate their education, training, certifications and/or experience who has been recognized as an expert on a particular subject, topic, or course work specific to the fire service industry. Additional qualifications may require the individual’s instructional certification levels to meet the requirements of the Arizona Center for Fire Service Excellence (AzCFSE). Valid Arizona certifications for Firefighter I and II Valid Arizona certifications Fire Instructor I PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Current NFPA 1041 Fire Instructor II 1403 Live Fire-Fixed Facility Instructor. Special Position Conditions: Background Verification: As a condition of employment, all candidates accepting an offer of employment for a full-time, part- time, temporary, student worker, or volunteer position, will be required to undergo a Background Verification. Employment with Central Arizona College is contingent upon the successful completion of the background verification. The level the background verification for this position is: Standard level. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Duties require physical effort in working moderately (up to 50 lbs). Duties performed causes light fatigue of eyes, fingers, or other faculties due to long periods of standing, sitting, repetitive motion and viewing a monitor. Some specialized faculty positions may require the lifting of heavier weights although lifting may be assisted.
INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:
Demonstrate the willingness as well as the capacity to cooperate in a professional and courteous manner with other college employees and students. Share knowledge and contribute to helping others collegially while supporting the mission of the college.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
This position is performed in a classroom and/or lab skills area. These areas may have occasional distractions such as noise, interruptions, or congested work areas with exposure to some disagreeable elements.
