Anesthesiologist

Seeking Board-Certified Anesthesiologists to provide coverage within a medical direction care team model. Physicians oversee CRNAs at a maximum 1:4 ratio and are directly responsible for regional anesthesia, labor and delivery coverage, and all cardiac cases.

Practice Model & Responsibilities

  • Medical direction model with up to 1:4 CRNA supervision

  • MDs personally perform:

    • Regional anesthesia (orthopedic blocks including adductor, interscalene, popliteal, supraclavicular)

    • Labor and delivery coverage

    • All cardiac anesthesia cases

  • Patient population spans pediatric through geriatric

Call Structure

  • Restricted (C1) call: In-house

    • 16-hour weekday shifts

    • 24-hour weekend shifts

  • Unrestricted (C2) call: From home

    • Primarily for emergent cardiac case callbacks

  • Average callbacks are rare for C2; C1 is in-house

Schedule & Coverage Needs

  • Coverage needed: 1 week (7 consecutive days) per month starting April 2026

  • Initial schedule includes 5 10 hour day shifts, with call added once familiar with the facility

  • FTE: 2

Facility Details

  • Location: Bismarck, ND

  • EMR: Epic

  • Support staff: CRNAs and OR staff

  • Reason for coverage: Physician retirement

Credentialing & Onboarding

  • Estimated credentialing timeframe: 90 days after completed application

  • Application turnaround required within 5 days

  • CV must be chronological from medical school with no gaps over 60 days without explanation

  • Three references required

Required Qualifications

  • Board Certified Anesthesiologist

  • North Dakota license or IMLC eligibility

  • Clean malpractice history

  • BLS, ACLS, PALS certifications

  • Self-Query NPDB report dated within 30 days of presentation

  • Availability confirmed at time of name clear

Additional Notes

  • Travel and lodging follow contract policy

  • No credentialing with other facilities required
