Job Description
MetroHealth is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider for our Express Care Clinics.
Experienced APPs preferred; new grads encouraged to apply
Preferred experience is ED/Urgent Care or Critical Care
Must be experienced with pediatric patients
Order evidence-based laboratory testing, radiology evaluation, prescribe medications, and refer to outside specialists as required
Perform pre-participation physicals for camps and sports
Provide in-person care
Provide an authenticated report of all services rendered and maintain accurate and complete records in an acceptable manner
Complete necessary documentation and ensure communication facilitating patient care and appropriate reimbursement
Experience with EPIC preferred
Be self-directed and self-motivated; have good communication, interpersonal skills and work independently
Capability to see a high volume of patients to meet clinic needs
Procedural experience includes Incision & Drainage, basic suturing, paronychia drainage, nail trephination, Nursemaid's elbow reduction
Provide care with empathy and compassion to those experiencing pain, physical or emotional distress
Communicate effectively with people from every socioeconomic, cultural, and educational background
Participate in activities that enhance professional development, complete and maintain certification in BLS (ACLS, ATLS, PALS, or NALS optional), and maintain any additional specialty training/certifications as required by the area assigned
Required:
Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner: MSN or grandfathered under Ohio Revised Code Graduate of an accredited advanced practice registered nurse program Current registered nurse licensure in the state of Ohio Certificate of Authority as an Advanced Practice Nurse from the Ohio Board of Nursing Certification as Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in specialty.
Physician Assistant: Graduated from an accredited PA program with certification to practice by the NCCPA and active licensure to practice in Ohio by the State Medical Board of Ohio
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association or obtains within 90 days of hire. Obtains other advanced life support certifications applicable to practice area within 180 days of hire Meets the requirements/qualifications for clinical privileges in the specialty/department with The MetroHealth System and must report to Medical Staff Office at time of hire to apply for clinical privileges Maintains a standard care arrangement and renews/signs it as required by the Ohio Board of Nursing Note: Other department specific qualifications for providers will be addressed through the Certificate of Authority and credentialing process. Preferred: Have or be able to apply for a Certificate to Prescribe/Externship from the Ohio Board of Nursing
