How will you make a difference?

You will be responsible for repairing and refurbishing Traction Motor Armatures.

What do we want to know about you?

High school diploma/GED
3 years of experience in Manufacturing
Ability to work independently.
Basic shop math skills in all units of measure, along with ability to read and use gauges and measuring instruments.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while having a high degree of attention to details.
Preferred electrical background, welding experience, lathe experience, overhead crane training, and forklift license.

What will your typical day look like?

Repair and Refurbish Traction Motor Armatures.
Will be preparing and assembling electric motor and blower parts including machining components, coil winding, stick and TIG welding, assembly and parts wiring, insulating and testing, as well as other related duties.
Necessary skills include: reading simple blueprints, reading scales, testing equipment, understanding basic math functions including counting and decimals, use of measurement devices including calipers, micrometers, etc.
Welding.
Operating electrical testing equipment.
Operating an industrial truck.

What about the physical demands of the job?

Exposure to shop floor requires wearing PPE.
Walking, climbing, stooping, bending, lifting is all part of the hands-on learning process.
Frequent and prolonged standing/walking.
Heavy lifting (45+ pounds).
Repeat bending, straight pulling and pushing.
Exposure to intermittent noise (90DB).
Ability to distinguish basic colors.
Exposure to epoxy, solvent, degreasers, paint, vapors, heat, dust and smoke from burning.

You may also be asked to perform other duties outside of your function or trade, for which adequate training will be provided if necessary.
