Who will you be working with?

You will work with a team of Assemblers for windows in the Transit division. You will report to the Department Supervisor.

 

How will you make a difference?

Responsible for producing assemblies using component parts per written and verbal work instructions.  Will use hand and power tools, machines, and their own hands including material handling and packaging on pallets.

Education/Experience:

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) or equivalent combination of education and experience. 

 

Certificates and Licenses:

Have basic shop math skills, and ability to read and interrupt blueprints

What will your typical day look like?

  • Follows production schedules to meet customer delivery requirements and maintain efficiency levels.
  • Prepares work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials.
  • Positions parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements.
  • Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit; fastening parts and subassemblies.
  • Verifies specifications by measuring completed component to assure quality product.
  • Resolves assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications; notifying supervisor to obtain additional resources.
  • Keeps equipment operational by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instructions; notifies supervisor if repairs are needed.
  • Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with housekeeping procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Maintains supplies inventory by checking stock to determine inventory level; anticipating needed supplies; notifies supervisor of potential shortages.
  • Documents actions by completing production and quality forms.
  • Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
  • Follows and implements 5S techniques.
  • Follows Safety guidelines and use required PPE designated by specific areas.
  • Packing and crating help and support.
  • Assembly validations and inspections.
  • Boxing assemblies and finish goods.

    The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include Close vision, Distance vision, Peripheral vision, Depth perception and Ability to adjust focus.  While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand. The employee is frequently required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

     

    Work Environment:

    The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

     

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to extreme cold (non-weather) and extreme heat (non-weather). The employee is occasionally exposed to wet or humid conditions (non-weather) and work near moving mechanical parts.

    Frequent exposure to shop elements such as noise, dust, fumes and odors.

The salary rate for this role is currently $0-0 The actual salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors, such as: training, transferable skills, work experience, education, business needs, market demands and work location.
