Position Overview: We're hiring for an Asset Control Specialist to work at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) in Glynco, GA. In this position you'll become part of a technically diverse team to include but not limited to Help Desk Specialists, Network Engineers, System Administrators, and Database Professionals. Together this team provides IT Operations and Support to the Federal Law Enforcement Training Agency which is responsible for training Law Enforcement Professionals from over 90 different agencies.


Position Responsibilities:


Inventory Control

  • Track and maintain accurate records of all assets, to include but not limited to vehicles, equipment, and IT hardware.
  • Perform regular inventories and audits to confirm asset accuracy and accountability.

Asset Lifecycle Support

  • Receive, distribute, and dispose of assets throughout their lifecycles.
  • Ensure assets are properly labeled, stored, and managed in accordance with federal and DHS standards.

Procurement Support

  • Collaborate with procurement staff to request and acquire needed assets.
  • Ensure cost-effective purchasing decisions.

Data and Record Management

  • Update asset information in management systems and databases.
  • Maintain accurate and complete records for tracking and reporting purposes.

Compliance and Reporting

  • Follow DHS and federal asset management procedures.
  • Support audits and inspections by preparing and providing required asset records and reports.

Team Coordination

  • Coordinate with departments and specialized teams to ensure required assets are available for daily operations and training.
  • Provide asset-related support to ensure mission readiness.

Asset Protection and Accountability

  • Help prevent asset loss, damage, or theft by following security and control procedures.
  • Report discrepancies or issues promptly for corrective action.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, Information Technology OR 1-3 years of asset and inventory experience.
  • IAM Certification, ISO 55001, or AMP certification preferred.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of compliance requirements for federal asset management policies and regulations.
  • Understanding or experience with asset management systems and software management systems such as Ivanti and SAMS.
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication.
  • Demonstrated ability to strategically identify opportunities for innovative processes.


Security Qualifications:

  • No security clearance required; Secret Clearance Preferred
  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Must pass a Federal Law Enforcement Background Investigation
