Overview: The 3D Technologies (3DT) team uses cutting-edge engineering, design, and fabrication (additive and subtractive) capabilities to help colleagues across our Company rapidly create custom solutions across the spectrum from drug discovery to manufacturing. Within 3DT, the Customer Enablement team advances strategic planning and operating models, builds digital products for internal and partner use, manages risk and compliance, and leads customer engagement and marketing. Our goal is to industrialize 3DT as the enterprise's go-to partner for custom 3D design and fabrication, operating efficiently to maximize return on investment.
Role: We are hiring a technical product engineer with application development and automation experience. You will enhance the effectiveness of 3DT and its partners through automation and strong user experiences. Responsibilities include gathering and documenting requirements, then designing, building, implementing, and supporting applications and automation/engineering solutions.
Illustrative Responsibilities:
Developer Work
Maintain the Intake Form and Autodesk PLM/PDM platform; set up CI/CD and recovery procedures; ensure compliance
Build integrations and dashboards using Fusion Manage APIs, PostgreSQL, JavaScript, HTML/CSS, Python, Power Automate, Microsoft Forms, and automated emails
Administer workspaces (users, fixes, minor features); engage stakeholders; create pitch materials; standardize onboarding templates
Manage AWS hosting and GitHub deployments; collaborate with Autodesk Support and external teams
Automation Projects
Provide Level-1 engineering and design support; meet with teams to refine requests
Create CAD designs and bills of materials; coordinate fabrication, testing, installation, and support with internal groups and vendors
Organize designs for reuse; maintain and repair assigned lab equipment; schedule and operate printers and fabrication tools
Work with suppliers to manage installation, maintenance, capacity, and workload across internal and approved external partners
Collaboration and Growth: You will collaborate with 3DT product lines and team members across the globe. Beyond technical work, you will gain exposure to industry practices and standards (e.g., 3D fabrication technologies, cGMP in manufacturing, and early drug discovery) and develop soft skills in communication, agile teamwork, problem-solving, and project management.
Relevant Skills and Experience:
Required:
Education: Bachelor's Degree
1+ years hands-on mechanical/electronics fabrication, or 3+ years in a multi-material fabrication shop
HTML/CSS for custom email templates
PostgreSQL, HTML, CSS for custom fields and formulas
JavaScript for Fusion Manage workspace scripts
High-level knowledge of databases, data protection, and loss prevention
Developer tools (Postman, IDEs, browser dev tools)
Preferred:
Microsoft Forms creation and maintenance
Power Automate, including API connections between Microsoft Forms and Fusion Manage PLM
Programming fundamentals and system understanding (items, workflows, roles)
Programming experience (Python, LabVIEW, C++, Visual Studio, Qt preferred)
Demonstrated experience across the automation project lifecycle: design/engineering, fabrication, assembly, deployment
Proven ability to manage multiple hands-on projects with rapid turnaround
Collaboration with diverse stakeholders (scientists, engineers, technicians, managers) to deliver business solutions
Strong communication via email and IM in fast-changing environments
3D CAD (Fusion 360 or SolidWorks preferred)
Embedded systems (PLC, Raspberry Pi, National Instruments, Arduino preferred)

U.S. Hybrid Work Model

The salary range for this role is
$70,500.00 - $110,900.00This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An employee's position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, geographic location, government requirements, and business or organizational needs.
The successful candidate will be eligible for annual bonus and long-term incentive, if applicable.
