Associate Financial Advisor

Job Description

Help conduct the operation of a financial advisory practice with an independent franchisee of Ameriprise Financial. Assist financial advisor to help clients work toward achieving their financial goals. We are seeking an experienced Financial Advisor who possesses a service mentality, strong communication skills, entrepreneurial mindset and wants to deliver a premium client experience.

Key Responsibilities/Duties

  • Service existing client base

  • Perform case analysis and develop recommendations, solutions and changes in alignment with a client's risk tolerance, goals and timeframe.

  • Conduct and participate in client meetings to present recommendations/deliver advice

  • Execute trades to align with portfolios on behalf of clients

  • Identify clients to engage in planning relationships

  • Leverage natural market to drive new client acquisition

  • Prepare planning discussions and deliverables for client meetings

  • Answer questions and provide information to clients, if requested, as it relates to servicing their accounts

  • Monitor economy, markets, and world events to determine any required strategic rebalancing

  • Ongoing communication with clients including email and phone calls

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Has the following licenses: Series 7, Series 66 (or Series 63 + 65), Life and Health

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in financial services is required

  • Financial designation preferred, not required (CFP, APMA, CIMA, CFA, CHFC)

  • Sales experience is a plus

  • Ability to recommend suitable investment products and services

  • Ability to meet with clients and present planning strategies

  • Highest level of interpersonal skills

  • Initiative in business development

  • Existing book of business preferred, not required

  • Entrepreneurial perspective and desire to grow the business

  • Ability to source prospective clients

  • Success at planning and managing resources (time, people, budget) to run optimal practice

  • Experience with CRM systems, financial platforms, and collaboration tools.

Compensation and Benefits

  • $70,000-$120,000 starting base salary. Ability for higher starting base commensurate with experience and size of existing book of business if you are transitioning clients.

  • 401(k) with match - eligible after 6 months of service
