As a Technical Analyst at New York Life's Technology Organization, you will serve as the critical link between business needs and technology solutions within our Image and Workflow system that includes Document Management, Workflow and Content Capture applications. You'll work closely with product owners, developers, and other stakeholders to analyze, document, and deliver high-quality technical solutions that drive operational efficiency and business value. This role requires strong analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, and a keen understanding of both business processes and system design.

The ideal candidate has experience working within enterprise environments, translating business requirements into functional and technical specifications, and ensuring smooth delivery across development, testing, and deployment phases.

What You'll Do:

The Technology Analyst will perform business, data, system, and technical analysis to translate complex requirements into actionable technology solutions. The role involves assessing existing systems and workflows, identifying opportunities for improvement, and efficient solutions aligned with enterprise objectives. Collaboration with business and technology teams is essential to ensure accuracy, consistency, and the successful implementation of business, system, and process enhancements.

  • Collaborate with business and technology teams to gather, analyze, and document functional and technical requirements for systems enhancements and new solutions.
  • Translate complex business processes into clear technical specifications for developers and testers.
  • Partner with application development teams to ensure alignment between requirements and implementation.
  • Conduct data analysis and mapping to support integration, migration, and reporting efforts.
  • Support the design and maintenance of system documentation, process flows, and data models.
  • Participate in system testing, UAT, and validation to ensure solutions meet defined business needs.
  • Serve as a liaison between business users and development teams to facilitate communication and issue resolution.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot production issues, identifying root causes and recommending process or system improvements.
  • Provide input into technology strategy, project estimation, and implementation planning.

The Technology Analyst should understand end-to-end workflows and integrations, configuration, connecting processes, platforms, and data to deliver scalable and efficient solutions. The role requires strong business, data, system, and technical analysis capabilities, supported by critical thinking, adaptability, and attention to detail. The role requires the ability to think strategically, learn quickly and communicate effectively with both business and technology partners.

Required Skills:

  • A strong mix of analytical, technical, and communication skills with the ability to bridge business needs and technical execution.
  • 3-5 years of experience as a Technical Analyst, Business Systems Analyst, or similar role in a large-scale enterprise or financial services environment.
  • Experience with SQL and data analysis for troubleshooting, validation, and reporting.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools such as Jira, Confluence, or Azure DevOps.
  • Ability to create clear technical documentation, process maps, and specifications for development teams.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams and levels of the organization.
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Understanding of enterprise technology ecosystems, with the ability to connect business processes to system capabilities and integration points
  • Experience in insurance or financial services, particularly with life insurance, annuities, or mutual fund products, and related regulatory processes
  • Working knowledge of data analysis, data quality validation, or SQL, with the ability to interpret and apply data insights to business or system solutions
  • Exposure to API integrations, ETL workflows, or digital transformation initiatives that drive operational excellence and client experience improvement
  • Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, Azure) and integration/middleware platforms.

Pay Transparency

Salary Range:$79,000-$113,000

Overtime eligible:Exempt

Discretionary bonus eligible:Yes

Sales bonus eligible:No

Actual base salary will be determined based on several factors but not limited to individual's experience, skills, qualifications, and job location. Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. In addition to base salary, employees may also be eligible to participate in an incentive program.
