Job Description
The Audience Services Associate serves as the on-site front of house representative and is responsible for managing all front of house operations while maintaining the safety and professional standards of the Sorenson Center for the Arts. This position will work closely with other members of the Sorenson Center to maintain consistent policies and systems to provide optimal audience experience.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Ensure the front of house and box office are presentable for events. Train and provide guidance and assistance to Student Audience Services Associates with front of house operations.
Track and monitor ticket sales/registration for events.
Oversee all points of audience interaction including greeting, reserved seating, accessibility, and concessions. Resolves questions and concerns in a timely and appropriate fashion.
Generate a front of house report for each event. Review Student Audience Services Associates reports for accuracy.
Understand and enforce all Sorenson Center policies and protocols for events.
Set and strike wayfinding signage for events in key locations on campus.
Serve as the front of house point person for crowd management in case of emergency and liaise with Public Safety as needed during events.
Assume additional responsibilities as required.
YOUR TEAM WILL INCLUDE
May oversee other Student and Temporary Audience Services Associates for specific productions as necessary
WHAT EDUCATION AND SKILLS YOU WILL NEED
High school diploma.
At least 2 years of experience in customer relations or audience services, especially in performing arts organizations.
Must be detail-oriented and punctual.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Excellent customer service skills and the ability to interact with a variety of people.
Comfortable serving in a position of authority in emergency situations.
Must be proactive and self-motivated.
Strong people and money-management skills.
Envisions and proposes new methods to perform tasks that support ET&A; takes thoughtful risks; and accepts new and ongoing initiatives, objectives, and solutions to gain sought-after results.
Anticipates and embraces change; demonstrates willingness to achieve, acquire, and utilize new skills and challenging tasks; and is flexible in changing conditions.
Ability to embrace ideas and changes created by all community members.
Must have strong computer skills including proficiency in Google Drive/Docs and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook/Calendar).
HOW AND WHERE YOU WILL WORK
Must be available to work days, nights and weekends as events require.
Must be able to lift at least 25 lbs.
This is a non-exempt position with an hourly rate of $25.75. This position includes paid sick leave where required by law. Eligibility, accrual, and usage will follow applicable state and local regulations.
