Job Summary
Revenue Cycle Professional Billing is looking for a Billing Clerk/Patient Account Representative. This clerical entry level position may require to be on site occasionally.

- MiChart edits: charge review, claim edits, router review edits
- Retro-adjudication
- Receiving and responding to e-mail requests
- Manual Charge Entry
- Charge Corrections
- EOB Pulling
- Incoming and outgoing Mail
- Maintain productivity standards
- Special Projects upon management?s request
Required Qualifications*
High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of 3rd party reimbursement policies and procedures may be necessary in certain positions. Ability to type 40-60 wpm with accuracy may be necessary. Knowledge Microsoft Office Suite. 1-2 yrs office experience, including at minimum six months in a hospital or physician business office. The ability to work in a fast paced/production environment.
Desired Qualifications*
Knowledge of University of Michigan and UMHS policies, procedures and as well as regulatory requirements. Experience with UMHS systems including MiChart (EPIC), Outlook, Epremis, CHAMPS, Availity as well as other payer websites. Professional billing experience within the last 2 years.
Modes of Work
Positions that are eligible for hybrid or mobile/remote work mode are at the discretion of the hiring department. Work agreements are reviewed annually at a minimum and are subject to change at any time, and for any reason, throughout the course of employment. Learn more about the work modes.
Background Screening
Michigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third party administrator to conduct background screenings. Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
