Biomedical Engineer I - Ultrasound Probe Repair
Job Description
Performs troubleshooting and repairs on routine medical equipment and software, escalating when necessary. Performs inspections, functionality tests, scheduled preventative maintenance, and recall of routine medical equipment and software. Installs, updates, and modifies equipment, ensuring compliance with manufacturers specifications with detailed guidance from a supervisor. Investigates and documents routine incidents and accidents involving medical equipment or software. Coordinates the use of vendors to perform repairs and maintenance when necessary, with detailed guidance from a supervisor. Documents corrective repairs and preventative maintenance, and maintains the parts inventory for medical devices and software.

- Ensures that documentation is adequately maintained by: supporting the team to document action taken (e.g., maintenance, repairs, part replacement) in the centralized maintenance management system with detailed guidance; documenting standards, procedures and protocols for all major processes and upholding all standards with some oversight; and maintaining adequate parts of inventory for medical devices and software with detailed guidance from a supervisor.
- Conducts ongoing preventative maintenance of medical equipment by: performing routine inspections and functionality tests of basic medical equipment (e.g., integrated, interoperable) medical devices and software with detailed guidance; assisting with scheduled preventative maintenance of routine medical equipment and software (e.g., replacing parts) with direction from a supervisor; responding to requests for maintenance with detailed guidance; and developing an awareness of the status of ongoing preventative maintenance activities, problems, and concerns.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associates degree or vocational certificate Electronic Service, or related field OR Minimum one (1) year of experience in technology field service, or a directly related field.
