The American Red Cross is currently seeking an Intern to support the Business Planning team within Training Services. This is a remote position with limited travel.

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW (Job Overview):

The Training Services Internship Program offers undergraduate and graduate students an opportunity to gain work experience in a non-profit organization. The Business Planning and Operations Intern will be responsible for a capacity forecast project and a multi-platform time comparison project. They will also assist with updating the current reporting to improve automation.

This position has an immediate start date in a part-time capacity, then switches to full-time status over the summer.

Now to June 1, 2026 -- Part-time

June 1, 2026 - August 7, 2026 -- Full-time

During the 10-week summer program, students receive training and develop their skills and knowledge under the guidance of experienced professionals.

This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in business strategy and training consulting within a leading humanitarian organization. The intern will support various strategic initiatives aimed at optimizing our training services and enhancing our outreach efforts.

.WHERE YOUR CAREER IS A FORCE FOR GOOD (Key Responsibilities):

  • Review current forecasting processes and develop structured, automated models that support budgeting by case type, case origin and position across fiscal year.
  • Gather, validate, and analyze agent hour data from multiple platforms to identify trends and insights.
  • Build a strong understanding of the Training Services call center structure, roles, and business analytics practices.
  • Support enhancements to existing reporting by incorporating automation into current process.
  • Assist in development of reports, dashboards, and other materials used to inform and guide management decisions.

Standard Schedule: Monday- Friday Standard business hours.

The salary range for this position is $20.00 an hour.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED (Minimum Qualifications):

Education: High School or equivalent required. An internship is typically part of an undergraduate program, which requires some university credit hours.

Experience: Up to 1 year of related experience.

Skills & Abilities: Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficient in computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, and Excel). Ability to work on a team.

A combination of the candidate’s education and general experience satisfies the requirements, so long as the total years equate to the description’s minimum education and general experience years combined (Management experience cannot be substituted).

Physical Requirements: Physical requirements are those present in a normal office environment. Operational flexibility is required to meet sudden and unpredictable needs. Ability to use a personal computer, applicable software, and office equipment for sustained periods of time. May include sitting for long periods, driving a vehicle, and working under challenging conditions.

WHAT WILL GIVE YOU A COMPETITIVE EDGE

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field.
  • Willingness to start immediately in a part time compacity.
  • Ability to travel to NJ for 1 week of in-person meetings.
  • Experience with Salesforce CRM, Power BI, Alteryx, and/or data warehouse reporting systems is a plus.
