Summary:
Performs a variety of routine and emergency cardiology studies and procedure as ordered by the medical staff.
Responsibilities:
1. Examines patient’s requisition form to obtain vital information needed prior to testing (room number, patient number, STAT, preop, etc.), and responds accordingly.
2. Checks patient’s chart to verify other, and accurately transcribes necessary, information from the patient’s chart (BP, medications, ordering physician), ensuring that contraindicating conditions are identified and communicated to the physician prior to initiation of the procedure.
3. Promptly and appropriately responds in accordance with instructions or established protocol in emergency or STAT situations. Implements appropriate safety and infection control policies/procedures to protect patient, self and others.
4. Effectively researches and resolves cardiology testing problems, and routinely provides input into the establishment of departmental policy/procedures in response.
5. Effectively explains procedures and protocols, demonstrates procedures or techniques, and answers questions as warranted, in an effort to enhance the understanding and skill levels of team members, orientees and students.

Education Requirements:
• Associate in completion of an AMA approved program in echocardiography.
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
• Registered as ARDMS, RDCS, or RCVT.
• BCLS certification.
Professional Experience Requirements:
• Incumbent will be required to take and successfully complete the Basic Arrhythmia Course.
• 1 year in Healthcare/Medical - Healthcare
