Summary:
The Manager provides efficient and effective delivery of patient care through case management process. Works toward desirable patient outcomes with MD, staff, family and patient involvement to enhance awareness of length of stay, resource utilization and principles of patient care. Functions on a highly interactive level, demonstrating knowledge of care management, clinical expertise, understanding of community resources, and resource utilization parameters. Has an awareness of legal and ethical issues, and maintains courtesy, respect and concern with patient/family, staff and physician.
Responsibilities:
Patients/Families , Hospital staff, Medical staff, Community agencies, and Insurance Companies are served by conducting interpersonal relationships in a manner that projects a positive image of the department and hospital. All contacts with customers are friendly, helpful and courteous.
Other information:
EDUCATION
- Graduate from an accredited school of nursing, BSN required.
EXPERIENCE
- o Recent clinical experience in healthcare management, managed care, and an understanding of the current healthcare climate is desirable.
- A minimal of 5 years progressive management and leadership experience.
LICENSURE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION
- North Carolina RN License, BSN required, Certification in a nursing specialty is desirable.
OTHER SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS
- Reading, Mathematics, Writing, Good knowledge and use of oral and written communication skills, Computer skills, Must be able to work autonomously
WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Exposure to Airborne and Bloodborne Pathogens, Exposure to electrical hazards (equipment use)
- Standing, Walking, Sitting, Reaching, Talking, Seeing, Hearing, Tasting, Smelling, Carrying, Pushing, Pulling, Lifting, and Moving.
