Civil Engineering Opportunities | Engineer I, II, III (Depending on Qualifications)

Selected candidates may be eligible for a sign on bonus and opportunities for career advancement.
This is a continuous recruitment announcement designed to build a qualified applicant pool for future engineering vacancies. It is not tied to a single, immediate opening. Applications will be reviewed and referred to hiring departments as positions become available.
Civil Engineer I, II, and III roles provide professional engineering support within assigned functional areas. These positions contribute to the planning, design, review, and implementation of engineering projects while serving as a technical resource for staff, contractors, and the public.
Key Responsibilities
  • Research and analyze engineering data to prepare and update plans, reports, and correspondence.
  • Review and design plans to ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards for public works, utilities, street lighting, water and wastewater systems, and traffic engineering projects
  • Perform essential engineering functions including site inspections, cost estimating, and monitoring project progress
  • Prepare, evaluate, approve, and maintain engineering documentation such as specifications, invoices, proposals, grant applications, and permits
  • Coordinate project implementation through collaboration with internal staff, contractors, consultants, and external agencies
  • Respond to inquiries and resolve concerns from contractors, City staff, the public, and partner organizations
  • Participate in staff meetings, training sessions, seminars, and conferences to support continuous professional development
  • Perform related duties as assigned, including training or supervising subordinate staff when appropriate
