Our tech  client is looking for a Community Engagement Specialist to work a 6-month assignment (40 hrs/week). Candidates must be able to work onsite in Foster City, CA in a hybrid capacity.

We are looking for a Community Engagement Specialist who is passionate about education, outreach, and building meaningful relationships with community members, riders, local organizations, and advocacy groups. In this role, you will help foster understanding, build trust, and support the successful introduction of emerging mobility technologies within local communities.

What You Will Do

  • Develop and execute community engagement strategies that promote transparent communication and build strong relationships with local residents, businesses, and community organizations.
  • Create educational materials and presentations to increase public understanding of new transportation technologies, safety protocols, and community benefits.
  • Plan and coordinate community events, workshops, and information sessions to gather input and share updates on program initiatives.
  • Monitor and analyze engagement metrics, including feedback, sentiment, and participation levels, to inform strategy and improve program effectiveness.
  • Collaborate with internal teams such as marketing, operations, product, and policy to ensure community initiatives align with broader organizational goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, urban planning, or a related field.
  • 4 to 6 years of experience in community engagement, communications, or a similar role, ideally within technology, transportation, mobility, or civic-focused organizations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage diverse audiences and build consensus among stakeholders.
  • Strong project and program management skills, with the ability to manage multiple initiatives and deliver high-quality outcomes.
  • Experience working with local government, community groups, or public-facing initiatives.
  • Demonstrated interest in sustainable transportation, smart mobility, or community-centered innovation.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to use data and insights to guide decision-making.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of transportation policy or mobility-related regulations is a plus.

In this position, you may have access to client or customer systems, confidential and/or proprietary information or data. This position is onsite and requires you to work closely with other individuals in a collaborative team environment.
