What You'll Get To Do:
The successful candidate will lead a multi-disciplined team overseeing Configuration and Data Management (CDM) for NGPS. They will work closely with Program/Engineering leadership to ensure long-term/short-term milestones are accomplished. They will gather, track, report, and be responsible for key performance indicators & cost/schedule performance.
The candidate will provide guidance and influence Program Leadership in the execution of all phases of CDM principles (Planning, Identification, Change Control, Status Accounting, Verification/Audits, Data Mgmt., etc.). Responsibilities include reviewing, updating, and maintaining CDM process documentation, auditing and evaluating compliance with these processes, sharing best practices among program practitioners, and implementing Corrective Actions resulting from audit findings to ensure continuous improvement. Tasking will include staffing, budget, and scope management, employee development, establishing/ implementing policy, Root Cause Corrective Action (RCCA) response coordination/development and implementation, goal development and engagement planning, and ensuring the competitiveness of the CDM team.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop, implement, and maintain configuration management plans, policies, and procedures.
• Lead and oversee configuration identification, control, auditing, status accounting, and verification processes.
• Ensure that configuration control is applied to complex engineering changes within the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate with various departments including engineering, production, and quality assurance to plan and manage product baselines and documentation.
• Conduct configuration audits to verify conformance to requirements and facilitate the resolution of discrepancies.
• Provide expert guidance and support on configuration management best practices to project teams.
• Maintain configuration management databases and tools, ensuring the integrity and security of configuration data.
• Perform labor, budgetary forecasting, and planning and performance based on program schedules and forecasts.
• Lead training and mentoring initiatives of other configuration analysts.
• Identify key performance indicators/metrics and present findings/reports to management and programs.
• Build high performing relationships with customer counterparts and interface as needed to support work scope.
• Engage daily with programs on matters of configuration and change management, conduct and lead Configuration Control Boards
Minimum Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 8 years of experience, preferably within the aerospace industry OR a minimum of a Master's Degree with 6 years of experience, preferably within the aerospace industry. In lieu of a degree, 4 additional years of experience can be considered.
• Strong understanding and experience with configuration management standards and practices (e.g., ISO, ANSI, CMII).
• Strong knowledge of how business processes work together to ensure interfaces with other business processes are efficient.
• Desire for and ability to influence change.
• Demonstrated leadership and the ability to manage the performance of a diverse organization.
• Strong interpersonal savvy, skilled in conflict resolution.
• Demonstrated effectiveness in achieving results through understanding and management of internal customer relationships, prioritization, and delegation of tasks.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance, if required.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Certification in Configuration Management (e.g., CMII-P, CMC).
• Experience with PLM (Teamcenter), ERP (Costpoint, SAP), MES (ESI, Solumina), and other business systems.
• Experience working within NASA and DoD configuration management requirements.
• Understanding of NGPS products - chiefly solid rocket motor design, materials, manufacturing processes and quality inspection techniques.
Primary Level Salary Range: $115,000.00 - $172,400.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
