Copy Supervisor

Position Overview
The Copy Supervisor leads the development of high-impact pharmaceutical advertising campaigns across multiple brands and channels. This role partners closely with Creative, Editorial, Account Management, Medical, and Production teams to deliver compelling, strategically aligned content that meets client objectives and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate brings deep pharmaceutical agency experience, exceptional copywriting skills, creative leadership, and expertise in MLR-compliant content development.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead copy development for pharmaceutical brands across digital, print, video, and omnichannel campaigns.
  • Create compelling, MLR-compliant content that is accurately referenced and annotated.
  • Develop brand messaging, creative concepts, and strategic campaign positioning.
  • Collaborate with Creative, Editorial, Medical, and Account teams to deliver high-quality work.
  • Present ideas to clients and contribute to strategic planning, market research, and creative reviews.
  • Manage and mentor copywriters, providing feedback, coaching, and performance evaluations.
  • Assign projects based on team expertise, workload, and business priorities.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure projects stay on schedule and within budget.
  • Support recruitment, interviewing, and development of creative talent.
  • Build strong client relationships and serve as a trusted strategic advisor.
  • Present and defend creative recommendations to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Support account growth by identifying opportunities within existing client partnerships.
  • Ensure all creative work aligns with client goals, brand strategy, and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications

  • 7-10+ years of pharmaceutical advertising agency experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, English, Journalism, Life Sciences, or related field
  • Proven expertise in medical, technical, and promotional copywriting
  • Strong pharmaceutical and healthcare category knowledge
  • Experience developing creative concepts and integrated campaign messaging
  • Expertise in digital, print, video, and omnichannel marketing materials
  • Strong understanding of MLR review processes, regulatory compliance, referencing, and annotation standards
  • Demonstrated leadership and people management experience
  • Excellent presentation, client-facing, and stakeholder management skills
  • Strong strategic thinking and brand positioning capabilities

In this position, you may have access to client or customer systems, confidential and/or proprietary information or data, including medical data. This position is onsite and requires you to work closely with other individuals in a collaborative team environment. Additionally, drug products may be present in the workplace.
