Location: Charlotte, NC | Hybrid 3x/week
Contract Length: 6+ months
Rate: $50-55/hr
Top Requirements:
- 4+ years of experience in Business Analysis, Data Analytics, or Product Management, preferably in finance or data-driven environments.
- Advanced SQL and Excel skills; experience working with relational databases.
- Hands-on experience with Python for automating testing routines.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to effectively connect with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven ability to gather, define, and translate complex business requirements into clear, actionable Jira stories and workflows.
Plusses:
- 5+ years of experience in finance or related fields.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a quantitative discipline such as computer science, engineering, finance, or applied mathematics.
- Experience with data quality, reporting, analytics, and large-scale data projects.
- Demonstrated success managing end-to-end projects within matrix teams.
- Familiarity with cloud storage (S3), Google Cloud, or query engines like Dremio is a plus.
Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Data Platform Business Analyst to support the ongoing modernization of our data platform. The successful candidate will combine advanced SQL expertise with excellent communication skills to facilitate requirements gathering, documentation, and testing efforts. You will work closely with cross-functional teams—including business, technology, and analytics—to turn complex data needs into actionable solutions that enhance operational efficiency, data quality, and compliance within a hybrid work environment in Charlotte, NC.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Gather and define detailed business requirements, translating them into clear Jira stories, epics, and features.
- Support Agile delivery by maintaining backlogs, supporting sprint planning, and ensuring effective communication across teams.
- Develop comprehensive test plans, author test cases, and lead testing activities, including UAT, functional, and regression testing.
- Document business processes, workflows, and technical specifications in collaboration with engineering teams.
- Partner with stakeholders to identify opportunities for process improvements and data-driven solutions that support strategic objectives.
