Summary
Design, build, and operate governed data products and services that power AI solutions across Distribution Technology. Convert source and frontline data into discoverable, secure, reusable products on Azure/Databricks, with end-to-end lineage, quality, and access controls. Your work accelerates delivery, ensures consistent governance, and enables high‑trust consumption by application and AI teams.
What you’ll do:
- Build governed data products
- Engineer batch and streaming pipelines on Databricks (Delta Lake/Delta Live Tables) to deliver curated datasets and features.
- Register assets in Unity Catalog; classify and document in Purview; publish SLAs, data quality rules, and lineage.
- Operationalize governance and access
- Implement role- and attribute-based access via Unity Catalog integrated with Entra ID; apply sensitivity labels, masking, and fine‑grained policies.
- Align with Privacy, Information Security, and Secure Analytics (SACS) for compliant access and movement.
- Standardize interfaces
- Expose productized data via approved APIs and query endpoints; support standards-based interfaces (including MCP-style context services where appropriate).
- Manage versioning, schema contracts, and backward compatibility for safe change adoption.
- Quality, lineage, and observability
- Implement data quality checks, anomaly detection, and freshness KPIs; capture lineage across pipelines and consuming apps.
- Instrument pipelines and services with OpenTelemetry and platform-native logging for audit-ready evidence and cross-team troubleshooting.
- Partner for scale and reuse
- Collaborate with application, AI engineering, and MLOps teams to accelerate safe consumption and reuse.
- Drive “build once, reuse broadly” across Distribution apps (holdings, CRM/eCRM components, CGP, operational telemetry).
- Reliability and performance
- Design for resiliency (retries, idempotency, compensation), cost efficiency, and peak-volume performance; support SLOs and capacity plans.
What you bring
- 6+ years building data platforms and pipelines on cloud (Azure preferred), including Databricks, Delta Lake, Spark, and streaming.
- Hands-on experience with Unity Catalog and Purview (cataloging, classification, lineage) and API exposure patterns on Azure.
- Strong grasp of governed data access (RBAC/ABAC), masking, encryption, and Zero Trust-aligned design.
- Experience implementing data quality frameworks, SLAs/SLOs, and end-to-end lineage; comfort with OpenTelemetry for data workloads.
- Proficiency with CI/CD for data (GitHub Actions/Azure DevOps), infrastructure-as-code, and controlled environment promotion.
- Clear communicator who translates business needs into durable data products and partners effectively across teams.
Nice to have
- Experience with feature stores, MLflow, and telemetry pipelines feeding operational and AI observability.
- Familiarity with experimentation data (A/B testing, attribution) and BI consumption patterns (Power BI).
