Job Title: Design Engineer IV

Job Duties: Toyota Material Handling, Inc. seeks a Design Engineer IV in Columbus, Indiana to develop 2D, 3D and electrical wire harness designs and routing. Apply strong emphasis on the mechanical requirements needed to produce robust products. Design multiple complex electrical wire harnesses to include technical leadership of junior members responsible for individual harnesses. Lead technical aspects of Electrical Component and Frame design to confirm and modify wire designs and connection points to meet both internal and external customer requirements. Confirm and support wire harness parts and routing at prototype stage to ensure design and functionality is met. Troubleshoot failures using multimeter, oscilloscope, and other diagnostic tools. Prepare technical data and documentation for reporting in meetings and design reviews. Participate in simultaneous engineering meetings and reviews with suppliers and internal departments to review, discuss, and change designs to meet all requirements. Create and manage parts lists and Engineering Change Instruction documentation. Local telecommuting available up to 2 days a week. Annual salary: $106,060 to $135,975.

Minimum Requirements: Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field plus 5 progressive years of electrical wire harness experience, including 3 years of specific experience with each of the following: Engineering design in a manufacturing environment; 2D and 3D design tools; Smarteam PDM tool; CATIA V5 EHI CAD tool; Zuken E-CAD tool; Microsoft Excel, Access and PowerPoint.
