Digital Asset Manager (DAM Migration)
Job Description
The Digital Asset Manager will support the migration and onboarding of a new digital asset management (DAM) system, transitioning from Brandfolder to Canto. This part-time, remote position averages 10-15 hours per week and focuses on organizing, maintaining, and optimizing digital assets during this migration. The role involves metadata enrichment, asset migration, system configuration support, and user training assistance to ensure a smooth rollout and adoption. Additional support may be needed to help adjacent Corporate Communications stakeholders with administration DAM tasks.
The first phase of this project, the migration to Canto, must be complete by June. Additional project support will likely be needed once the migration is complete.
Digital Asset Manager Responsibilities:
- Assist in auditing existing digital assets and the current Brandfolder structure, including taxonomy, metadata, permissions, and workflows.
- Support preparation of migration files, including CSV metadata enrichment and validation for import into Canto.
- Collaborate with project leads to execute asset migration from Brandfolder to Canto, performing quality control checks.
- Help configure and maintain folder structures, custom fields, workflows, and permissions within Canto.
- Populate portals and organize migrated assets for internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide user support during onboarding, including answering questions and assisting with training materials for Canto users.
- Monitor system performance post-launch and assist with configuration adjustments based on feedback.
- Ensure compliance with governance standards, naming conventions, and usage rights throughout the migration process.
Digital Asset Manager Requirements:
- Experience with digital asset management systems, preferably Canto and Brandfolder.
- Strong understanding of metadata standards, taxonomy development, and file organization.
- Ability to work independently and manage tasks effectively in a remote environment.
- Proficiency in handling CSV files and basic data validation.
- Familiarity with common creative file formats (images, video, design files) and related tools.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills for cross-functional teamwork.
- Knowledge of copyright, licensing, and usage rights.
- Prior experience supporting creative or marketing teams is a plus.
