Digital Marketing Manager, Advancement Communications
Job Description
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Lead Advancement’s social media efforts by developing and implementing social media outreach and effective web content that engages alumni, donors, and friends and promotes Advancement initiatives, events, and resources. Manage and grow alumni social media accounts, including Facebook group, Instagram, X, and LinkedIn; build and maintain a social media content calendar, track engagement, monitor and report analytics, and create appropriate content strategies that enhance Advancement objectives; and stay current with social media trends, emerging platforms, and best practices to ensure Advancement’s digital presence remains relevant and impactful.
Provide the Executive Vice President, Advancement with weekly social media content for personal social media accounts. Generate content and posting strategies for Advancement staff to post regularly on personal LinkedIn accounts.
Serve as lead storyteller and interviewer for Babson-originated videos and other content to be used across multiple channels, including newsletters and social media. Proactively identify and develop internal sources for content, anticipating stories and opportunities that will resonate with key constituents, and collaborate with campus partners to create strategic, compelling, platform-relevant content.
Design and build visually compelling, on-brand emails in Salesforce Marketing Cloud that effectively promote events, fundraising campaigns, and other Advancement communications. Leverage expertise in digital strategy and user experience to optimize engagement, ensuring emails not only look polished but also drive results. Collaborate across teams to maintain a consistent and impactful digital presence that reinforces Advancement’s messaging and goals.
Create dynamic and personalized marketing campaigns using AMPscript and SQL expertise, building automations for marketing and analysis.
Support web content strategy for the alumni website by managing day-to-day updates consistently and proactively, ensuring content remains accurate and up to date. Assist with overall content and navigation while regularly reviewing the web and related platforms to ensure all information is relevant, current, and aligned with Advancement goals.
Design visually compelling graphics for newsletters, emails, and social media posts that align with Advancement branding and messaging. Bring creativity and strategic thinking to each piece, ensuring content not only captures attention but also engages key audiences and supports overall marketing and fundraising goals. Collaborate with colleagues across teams to develop cohesive and impactful visual storytelling across all digital channels.
Oversee Babson Street, the College’s virtual marketplace of alumni-founded/owned businesses. Includes, but not limited to, uploading of new businesses and maintenance of existing businesses.
Collaborate with Stewardship to recognize donors on digital channels.
Collaborate with College Marketing to amplify Advancement messaging on digital channels. Serve on the College’s Social Media Council and Editorial Meeting Group to inform social media outreach on alumni accounts.
Assume additional responsibilities as required.

WHAT EDUCATION AND SKILLS YOU WILL NEED
Bachelor’s Degree
A minimum of 5 years of experience in related field (strongly prefer 6-8 years of related experience).
Marketing Cloud Email Specialist certification is required within 90 days of hire (Babson will provide the training) but strong preference for candidate with Marketing Cloud experience.
Must have outstanding oral and written communication skills as well as organizational and interpersonal skills.
Strong computer skills including proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Power Point, Outlook, etc.) – Salesforce and web publishing experience also helpful.
Envisions and proposes new methods to perform tasks that support ET&A; takes thoughtful risks; and accepts new and ongoing initiatives, objectives, and solutions to gain sought-after results.

HOW AND WHERE YOU WILL WORK
Must have had a valid unrestricted U.S. Driver’s License for one year, and maintain throughout employment an insurable (as determined by the College’s insurer’s criteria) or a satisfactory driving record; must successfully complete and pass the College’s vehicle training program within the first 60 days of employment; annual or more frequent review of employee’s driving record based on the College insurer’s criteria; and safety training as required by management.
Ability to work some nights and weekends.
Requires work onsite a minimum of 3 days a week (Monday and a minimum of 2 other days; additional requirements based on outlined department policy); the on-campus requirement is subject to modification based on organizational need.
ADDITIONAL SKILLS YOU MAY HAVE
Familiarity with events in higher education or other non-profits helpful.
Marketing and relationship management experience preferred.
Knowledge of Illustrator and Adobe Software preferred.
Knowledge of Salesforce Marketing Cloud strongly preferred, specifically with Automation, Journey, Email Content Creation, and Data Extension features.
SQL and AMPScript knowledge helpful.
This is an exempt position with the following pay range: $76,200-$84,667 depending on a candidate’s experience; the role is also eligible for bonuses based on performance and budget.
