The position will be responsible for the following business development job duties:
• Collaboratively executes the sector's strategic growth plan.
• Translating customer needs into specific requirements and identifying and tailoring company services and solutions into offerings.
• Identification, creation, and validation of program opportunities.
• Assesses opportunities available within and beyond existing markets, offerings, and business models.
• Customer and partner relationship development and interaction engagement across multiple levels and functions.
• Technical/operational/customer/partner knowledge for the Sector's business areas.
• Responsible for managing multiple communications channels for dissemination of information regarding the assigned market to internal customers.
• Conduct market and opportunity research, analysis, and business case development.
• Recommend financial and non-financial strategic objectives and alternatives; implement and maintain strategic and operational plans.
• Maintain broad knowledge of DoD agencies, Joint Staff and Military Departments associated with the Defense Systems Sector portfolio.
Basic Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree and 10+ years of related business development, DoD requirements development, budgeting and/or operational expertise; or a Master's degree and 8+ years of related business development, DoD requirements development, budgeting and/or operational expertise
• Knowledge of and experience with Department of Defense requirements, budget acquisition processes.
• Experience working with OSD, Joint Staff, Military Department senior leaders and staffs
• Excellent critical thinking, organization, communication, and relationship-building skills
• Capability to set priorities and work under pressure in a fast paced, dynamic environment
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance
• Ability to travel 25% of the time
Preferred Qualifications:
• Current active DoD Secret or Top Secret security clearance
• Demonstrated, effective communication skills with the ability to use them in informing, presenting, negotiating and problem solving with a wide range of stakeholders and leaders
• Track record of delivering differentiated solutions that have led to tangible new business growth
• A result driven attitude and a proven capability of working in a collaborative environment across distributed locations and organizations
• Experience with USG international sales processes and international customers
• Ability to think across the DOTMLPF spectrum to develop creative solutions to customer needs
• Capable of communicating and building trust with executive level customers and internal executive leadership
Salary Range: $188,600.00 - $296,400.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
