Accountable to lead payroll process, strategy, and communications supporting / driving payroll operations and system administration together with all payroll stakeholders to achieve desired business results.
Manage the corporate multi-state payroll functions including, payroll processing, compliance with policies and procedures, attesting to strong internal controls, accurately execute all payroll related tax requirements and garnishments, develop and execute use cases for system review and testing of new functionality and upgrades.
Direct computation of pay according to company policies ensuring payroll and system accuracy. Exhibit a commitment to data quality by validating results against sources specified in the requirements.
Duties include balancing and controlling earnings and deduction totals, inspecting automated system output such as registers and standard reports, determining and correcting out-of-balance conditions, gathering payroll data for inclusion in financial statements, calculating disability and jury duty pay. Adjust errors and complaints as required. Implement changes as they relate to regulation, tax or other payroll activity.
Resource and lead initiatives associated with driving payroll forward as a collaborative business partner and function.
Implement company-wide policies and procedures as they relate to payroll execution. Study, standardize, document, and maintain procedures to improve efficiency and effectiveness of the team.
Communicate and work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to analyze current processes, identify new system functionalities/efficiencies, and recommend and implement changes.
- Responsible for financial reporting to Division Heads, Directors, Managers and all other customers with a commitment towards customer satisfaction.
Work with outside vendors such as ADP and Equifax to provide expert processing support based on evaluated needs. Ensure availability of 3rd party export interfaces for insurance, wellness, flex spending, 401(k) loans and contributions, Operations department training enterprise system, and annual 401(k) profit sharing match.
Responsible for payroll playbook development and execution for any mergers or acquisition.
Management responsibilities include:
Typically, manages through multiple Managers. Provides leadership and management to one or more major departments of an operating unit or to a department that has system-wide accountability.
Strategic, tactical and operational planning (12 + months) for the function or department; - Direct budgetary responsibility for one or more departments, functions or major projects/programs;
Interpret and execute policies for departments/projects and develops;
Recommend and implement new policies or modifications to existing policies;
Hiring staff, recommending pay increases, performing performance reviews, training and development of staff, estimating personnel needs, assigning work, meeting completion dates, interpreting and ensuring consistent application of organizational policies.
Basic Requirements
Bachelor’s degree.
At least 8 years of experience processing payroll.
At least 5 years of experience demonstrating process management experience and understanding of how payroll integrates and impacts upstream and downstream processes.
At least 4 years of experience coaching, mentoring, training staff and/or assigning work/projects to other members of a team; experience managing teams.
Experience controlling and coordinating concurrent projects, competing priorities and critical deadlines.
Experience building and maintaining relationships within and between teams.
Experience working in a client/customer shared service environment.
Experience working with MS Office Suite, Kronos and PeopleSoft.
Advanced level skill in Microsoft Excel (for example: V Look up and Pivot Tables).
Preferred Qualifications
FPC/CPP Certification.
Experience processing payroll for multi-entity company with over 15,000 employees.
Experience working with Workday payroll.
Experience in both payroll operations and payroll taxes.

The anticipated salary range for this position:
$152,880.00 - $229,320.00 AnnualThe actual salary will vary based on applicant’s location, education, experience, skills, and abilities. This role is bonus and/or incentive eligible. Medline will not pay less than the applicable minimum wage or salary threshold.
