The Role
Are you someone with a strong technology leadership background with willingness to ride new Alternative Investment tide in Financial Industry? In this Solution Architect role, you will work on complex and critical technology programs paramount to FFIO's business operations related to various Alternative Investment based product launches and building strategic roadmap for the organization. This role will also allow you to engage in new and emerging financial domains and play an active role in new Fidelity offerings to its customers.

  • Engage with business and IT teams to address complex problems and facilitate product launches.

  • You will author impactful architecture impacting trade settlement, NAV calculation, Fund Accounting, Taxation and many such business capabilities.

  • These solutions achieve business goals, align with FFIO technology strategy, bring new trend achieving rapid application development and promote novel methodologies in design and architecture.

  • As a Director, Solution Architect, you will provide technical vision and leadership to develop solution involving various products and home-grown solutions related to blockchain and crypto ecosystem. This solution should include scope of integration with various existing FFIO applications and platforms.

  • You will take part in a broader leadership team that defines and maintains our overall technical strategy for digital products and its integrated roadmap for the organization

The Expertise and Skills You Bring

  • 13-15+ years of experience in software design, architecture, and development

  • A degree in Computer Science or related field, Master's degree preferred

  • Proven architecture and personal leadership experience

  • Passion for understanding financial domain & resolving financial domain challenges

  • Financial services background, e.g.- trade settlement, fund accounting, security pricing etc. would be a plus

  • Hands-on expertise with architecture design tools

  • Proven knowledge with Java and the Open-Source stack

  • Foundational knowledge of engineering and continuous delivery practices

  • Proven skills and demonstrated focus in logical and component architecture design and deployment

  • Demonstrated experience in cloud technologies and crafting solutions that use AWS services such as EKS, RDS, S3, Batch, NLB, ALB, CloudWatch, ElastiCache and Lambda

  • Validated knowledge of Relational databases (Oracle, Sybase, MySQL), good experience in event based and message driven orchestration architectures and API development

  • Significant background in solving complex technology challenges

  • Our technology stack is diverse but largely based on open source and groundbreaking components (Java, Spring, ActiveMQ, Kubernetes, Docker). However, we are not bound by a particular technology and believe in applying the right technology depending on the challenge. As such, we are always exploring new technologies and new ways to continually provide customer value.

  • Thought leadership in recommending strategic options and strategy formation

  • Outstanding background in modern distributed technology and overall systems architecture

  • Ability to advise and lead the work of a geographically diverse technical staff

  • Ability to communicate and influence effectively with all levels within the organization

  • Ability to nurture strong and collaborative partnerships across both internal and external constituencies

  • Extensive knowledge of innovative software stacks, tooling, and cloud patterns and technologies

  • Mentoring and developing technical staff

  • Your knowledge and experience expressed through insights and new ideas

The Team
Fidelity Fund & Investment Operations (FFIO) provides accounting and investment management support services for Fidelity mutual funds and other retail and institutional investment products. FFIO is actively seeking an experienced architect to help us deliver our next generation cloud-based platforms.
The FFIO technology group is a highly collaborative team. In addition to domain expertise and proven experience, you will exemplify a spirit of leadership, partnership, teamwork, and seek to educate partners on the "why" behind standard methodologies and architecture decisions. You will seek to elevate and broaden the expertise of your fellow team members.
