This position will be responsible executing the overall distribution of merchandise to Fleet Feet Chicago’s retail stores. This would include footwear, apparel and accessory categories with merchandise slated for retail sale. The position will also be responsible for the receiving of all apparel and accessories.

• Execute all merchandise distribution to stores
• Ensure accurate receiving of incoming apparel and accessories at the distribution center
• Maintain a fun and positive work environment for distribution staff.
• Support all Fleet Feet initiatives, activities and functions.
• Work schedule will be based upon the demands of the business. In a typical week, this position will work 5 days out of the distribution center including some weekends with occasional days at the store to assist with store operations. In addition, during key company events additional time in the retail stores and/or offsite will be required.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

• 1+ years of operations experience preferred
• Strong business acumen and retail industry knowledge preferred
• Strong ability to coach and influence without direct authority
• Ability to think strategically about issues and opportunities to properly assess impacts
• Problem-solver who enjoys challenges and takes pride in creating the right solution

Additional Requirements:  Hours of work for this position may vary based on work schedule. Position requires moving around for periods of 2-4 hours without a rest break task sequencing, and using point-of-sale computers. Occasional moderate to heavy (10-25+lb) lifting and carrying, bending and reaching overhead may be required. Work environment includes substantial communication with customers, working in a retail environment with product displays and stockroom with inventory, and potentially slippery surfaces.
