Early Head Start Home Visitor
Job Description
The Early Head Start Home Visitor through weekly home visits and socialization groups (“baby and me” parent group) partners with pregnant women and families with children birth to three years of age to enhance their healthy growth and development. We assist families in receiving comprehensive services in the areas of health, nutrition, early childhood and parenting education, social services, nutritional services and problem-solving support so families can meet personal goals for them and their children.
We are looking for a great candidate that has the following competencies:
- Has a commitment to working with low-income and immigrant families and pregnant women
- Has knowledge of community resources or how to access community and social services
- Interested in establishing a caring and supportive relationship with the persons we service
- Is familiar with child development and/or social services delivery systems
- Can manage a caseload of 12 families, prioritize, plan work activities, set goals and objectives, and use time effectively
- Has the ability to work with different computerized data systems to track all services to the families
Schedule: Full Time Monday through Friday 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Pay Rate:
For candidates that meet the CDA (Child Development Credential) or Equivalent Coursework in Home Visiting or Infants and Toddlers Requirement, the pay rate structure is as follows:
- High School Diploma:
- $22.94/hour
- $23.90/hour with bilingual language skills
- Associate's Degree:
- $24.03/hour
- $24.99/hour with bilingual language skills
- Bachelor's Degree:
- $25.14/hour
- $26.10/hour with bilingual language skills
For candidates without the required CDA (Child Development Credential) or Equivalent Coursework in Home Visiting or Infants and Toddlers, but meeting experience and language preferences will be hired as a Program Support Specialist*. The Program Support Specialist pay rate structure is as follows:
- High School Diploma:
- $20.00/hour
- $20.96/hour with bilingual language skills
- Associate's Degree:
- $21.44/hour
- $22.40/hour with bilingual language skills
- Bachelor's Degree:
- $22.18/hour
- $23.14/hour with bilingual language skills
*New hire must enroll in the program sponsored HVCDA and obtain the credential within 120 days of employment.

Required Skills
- Candidates will need to have access to reliable transportation and be able to pass a criminal background check
- Preference given to persons who speak Portuguese, Spanish, Arabic, Nepali, Somali as the position demands
Required Experience
- Must have a minimum of a home-based CDA credential or comparable credential, or equivalent coursework as part of an associate's or bachelor's degree; a CDA (Child Development Credential) in Home Visiting or Infants and toddlers, Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s Degree in Early Childhood Education or related Human Services field preferred.
- Candidates without the required credential, but meeting experience and language preferences must enroll in the program sponsored HVCDA and obtain the credential within 120 days of employment
- Experience with low income and diverse young children and their families preferred
