The role:
Are you a licensed journeyman electrician looking for a dynamic outdoor role? Join our Region 1 electrical crew! We're seeking a skilled electrician to maintain diverse electrical systems across various public facilities, tunnels, bridges, and more. Our team oversees a vast network, including 425 traffic signals, 150 ramp meters, and 11,000 luminaries/streetlights. Apply today to be part of this essential maintenance team!

A day in the life:
Install, inspect, troubleshoot, repair and maintain electrical equipment that is overhead, on poles with a height up to 110 feet or is underground. Equipment includes:
Traffic signal hardware.
Variable message signs.
Roadway video/camera systems.
Portable light plants and generators.
Extensions, modifications and repairs to branch circuits in and around all ODOT facilities.
Lighting fixtures, including on bridges (LED, HPS, Fluorescent, etc.).
Drawbridge controls and related circuitry.
Motor controls for shop equipment, including air compressors, overhead doors, fuel pumps, ventilation, rock crushers, storm water pumps and HVAC.
Participate in team development and train apprentice electricians.
Work outdoors on a year-round basis in all weather conditions, often in close proximity to heavy highway traffic.
Some work on structures of high elevation such as bridges, light towers and buildings.
Must be available to work any time, 24/7, including holidays and respond to emergencies.
Must be capable of lifting up to 70 pounds, bending, stooping and sitting in a vehicle for long periods.
This position requires the ability to distinguish colors.

Comprehensive and equitable base salary offer within the listed range. A general journeyman electrical license.
Special qualifications:
Employee will be required to use a commercial motor vehicle to conduct business; you must possess a current, valid commercial driver's license B (CDL-B) and no air brake restrictions, OR have the ability to acquire one within six months of hire (ODOT will cover training and costs) to be considered eligible for this position. A valid driver license and an acceptable driving record are required for this position. We will conduct pre-employment driving records checks, including Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) Clearinghouse registration and full query check for our final candidate(s) and annual query for current employees.
This position requires a maximum 45 minute response time to 9200 SE Lawnfield Rd, Clackamas, Oregon 97015 for emergency call-outs.

Effective Jan. 1, 2025, the compensation plan for this position will be adjusted to reflect a cost of living adjustment (COLA) of 6.55%. The salary listed in this posting does not reflect the cost of living adjustment.
