Summary:
The position's primary focus is to lead the daily operation of the human in-vitro fertilization laboratory.


Responsibilities:
This position manages and oversees conventional insemination, egg retrievals, oocyte stripping, embryo transfers, embryo/egg freezing and thawing, micromanipulation of eggs and sperm for intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) , assisted hatching (AH) and embryo biopsy.
Maintains accurate and thorough laboratory records, ensuring all patient information is documented appropriately in the medical records system. Audits record-keeping performed by the lab team and makes recommendations for improvements when required.
Independently analyzes and interprets lab results and supervises other members of the lab team in analysis and interpretation. Communications results and findings with doctors, nurses, and patients as appropriate.
Designs and develops continuing quality improvements programs for the embryology team. Oversees and trains junior staff in quality control and ensures team members follow all protocols.
Develops training and communication protocols and educational programs for patients and their families on issues such as infertility evaluations, medications, treatment protocols, and procedures.
When the supervisor is not in the office, they take on all the lab roles and responsibilities that the supervisor would.  They only need to communicate personnel issues with the supervisor, not manage them.

● Four (4) years of experience with a clinical in-vitro fertilization program.
