Our Tactical Space Systems Division Integration and Test group is seeking a Principal Electronics Engineer (Level 3) to join our team of qualified and diverse individuals in Gilbert, AZ.You will have the opportunity to design, develop, and execute test procedures and automated test scripts using spacecraft commands, telemetry, and electrical ground support equipment.The ideal candidate has system level test experience working with spacecraft flight hardware and good computer skills.Daily responsibilities will require test preparation leading to direct contact with satellite and space flight hardware.Candidate must be able to tackle issues utilizing skills obtained in the field of electrical engineering, or a related discipline, preferably as it relates to system level integration and test.Required skills include the ability to communicate clearly, and to use critical thinking in troubleshoot of problems.The ability to use a scripting language and formulate automated test scripts is highly desirable.International travel to support launch campaigns may be required.Shift and weekend work to support testing will be required periodically.
Responsibilities:
• General frequent use and application of technical standards, principles, theories, concepts andtechniques
• Demonstrates the skill and ability to perform moderately complex professionaltasks
• Understands NG test engineering practices andprinciples
• Understands both electrical circuits and software within the flight hardware andEGSE
• Supports EGSE and flight hardware test/troubleshooting efforts and ability to perform this tasking with little to no oversight from anotherElectrical Engineer
• Able to work independently to complete tasks and knows when to ask for help.
• Fully grasps escalation plan when test errors are encountered and understands when to proceed per NG/program process. Participates in anomaly resolution processwhile offering technical solutions for FRBapproval.
• Travel and support different shifts whenrequired
• Works under general supervision
• Provides solutions to a variety of technical problems of increasing scope and complexity as assigned
• Follows established procedures
• Has technical insight and experience to know if test set-up and results make sense
• Contributes to the completion of milestones associated with specific projects
• Ability to establish and maintain infrequent inter-organizational and outside customer contacts on routinematters.
• Coordinates with ITEE team lead, electrical technicians, and I&T managers to complete tasking. May participate, prepare, and present material in program reviewboards (PDRs, CDRs, TRRs, FRBs,etc).
Basic Qualifications:
• Electronics Engineer 3: Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering (or equivalent) with 5 years of related engineering experience; OR a Master's degree with 3 years of related engineering experience
• Demonstrate ability to listen effectively, take direction, and possess initiative to accomplish assigned tasks and complete work in a timely fashion
• Demonstrate ability to learn and integrate new programming languages based off previous experience
• Must be a U.S. Citizen with ability to obtain a DoD TS/SCI security clearance & special program access
Preferred Qualifications:
• Active DoD TS/SCI or higher security clearance with investigation in the last five (5) years
• Experience with any of the following Microsoft Visio, National Instruments LabView
• Experience with hardware or software testing and test scripting
• Experience in Electronics troubleshooting, RF test configuration testing, Environments testing (Vibration Analysis/Thermal Vacuum chamber testing)
• Experience in Automated Test Equipment usage and troubleshooting
• Programming experience with any of the following languages: Python, C, C++
• Experience in Aerospace or Defense industry (development or test)

Primary Level Salary Range: $98,400.00 - $147,600.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay.
