National Grid is hiring an Engineer for our engaged and collaborative NE Gas Distribution Engineering Design - Central Region team in Waltham, MA.
The Team
The NE Gas Distribution Engineering Design - Central Region team is responsible for the design of standard and complex natural gas distribution projects, west and south of Boston. Our team supports the design of gas main and service replacements, public works, reliability and growth projects.
What You'll Do
What You'll Do
- You'll be part of an engineering design project team to develop and manage all engineering aspects of gas distribution infrastructure projects.
- Acting as a technical subject matter expert (SME), based on level of experience, you'll develop unique engineering designs for gas distribution projects.
- You'll manage external engineering design firms to ensure all design work is performed in accordance with company and industry standards, within budget and on schedule.
- You will produce construction drawings using AutoCAD in accordance with company standards for gas distribution designs.
- You'll prioritize work and manage multiple, internal and external stakeholders, projects within budget and time constraints, working collaboratively with outside consulting firms and internal stakeholders.
- You'll assess project scopes and identify required variances prior to design to ensure a complete, high quality and safe project outcome.
- You'll also implement change control procedures to track design changes instituted by engineering or field operations and identify any associated risks that may result from the proposed change.
About You
- You'll have earned an ABET-accredited Bachelor of Science Degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering
- You'll have at least two (2) years of experience in civil, structural, geotechnical, transportation, plumbing or a similar focus
- You'll have AutoCAD and/or MicroStation design experience matching your years of employment
- You'll have earned your Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification
- A valid driver's license is also required

Salary
$103,000 - $118,560 a year
