Job Description
The Manufacturing Engineering Technician:
• Develops assembly instructions for product for first-time-builds.
• Mentors and trains new and experienced assemblers on newer builds.
• Gathers and analyzes defect data to identify defect trends.
• Supports program meetings in developing root cause and corrective actions.
• Collaborates with Manufacturing Engineering to develop and implement new processes and process improvements.
• Assists engineering in creating designs and/or developing products and processes; Documents drawing errors and suggests improvements.
• Develops and constructs experimental and prototype devices, models and systems working from very general information.
• Designs, develops, and assembles manufacturing aids such as holding fixtures, jigs, dies, harness boards, etc.
• Adheres to established procedures and practices as required to ensure compliance.
• The ideal candidate will have the ability to effectively communicate and work with a variety of internal personnel from manufacturing, manufacturing engineering, and design engineering. They should also be self-directed, organized, and team oriented.
Basic Qualifications:
• High school graduate or recognized equivalent (GED) and 4+ years of manufacturing experience
• Experience using MS Office tools
• Experience as a Manufacturing operator or technician
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD clearance
• US citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with Power Control Systems and Hardware
• Experience working on Naval systems
• Experience training and/or mentoring other personnel
• Tooling development and fabrication experience
• Hands-on assembly and fabrication experience
• Assembly procedure development experience
• Experience with general 3D CAD software
Primary Level Salary Range: $50,882.00 - $121,755.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
