Summary:
Accountable for budgetary resources, policy development and implementation, employee performance, program outcome, and service delivery for environmental services.


Responsibilities:
1. Monitors and assures implementation of policies and procedures that guide and support Environmental Services. Develops and implements workplans for Environmental Services. Regularly inspects completed work and completes quality management reports. Recommends new methods to improve overall performance.
2. Provides budget input for Environmental Services.
3. Maintains accountability for budgetary resources, within approved allocations, for assigned area(s). Monitors expenditures and reports variances. Takes corrective action as appropriate. Executes effectively all required programs and procedures including related administration reporting and documentation. Completes all reports accurately and on time.
4. Assists in the recruiting and hiring of employees. Assists in orientation, training and development of employees, and completes required forms and reports accurately, and timely.
5. Inspects and evaluates physical condition of establishment.
6. Evaluates employees' performance and program outcomes and implements improvement activities. Meets with employees to assess professional development needs.
7. Plans, coordinates and integrates services provided within Environmental Services and with other departments throughout the organization.
8. Coordinates, leads, and participates in performance improvement activities for Environmental Services.
9. Develops and maintains professional relations through formal and informal communication systems including meetings and reports both verbal and written.
10. Maintains the organizational structure and staffing schedules to ensure effective execution of approved objectives.

● Bachelor's degree preferred.
Licensure/Certification Requirements:
● CEH, REH preferred.
Professional Experience Requirements:
● A minimum of three (3) years of supervisory experience, preferably in healthcare related environmental services. Must have demonstrated leadership ability.
Knowledge/Skills/and Abilities Requirements:
● Language Skills: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. Reasoning Ability: Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
