Job Description

As a special event worker, you will perform duties associated with the provision of customer service at special events. You must be open to working on weekends and weeknights.

Currently hiring 3 Events Support Specialist

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Knowledge and experience working with audio and video systems, operation and troubleshooting wireless microphone system and streaming systems.
  • Assists management with event operation, execution while ensuring organizations. are following Central Arizona College venue rental policies and procedures.
  • Attend Special Events as needed.
  • Deliver a high level of customer service when working with External groups.
  • Test A/V equipment functionality before events and proactively troubleshoot any issues to minimize disruptions.
  • Report to IT if there are any issues with systems or equipment.
  • Collaborate with internal partners, such as Academics, Community Events, Student Engagement, and IT to understand AV needs, requirements, and expectations for each event.
  • Assist with additional event logistics or problems that may arise.
  • Use exceptional customer service skills in all interactions.
  • Perform related duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  •  Events Assistant will occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and be must able to stand for long periods of time
INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:
  • Ability to communicate clearly as the host of community events, while interfacing with the general public.
  • Ability to communicate via online mediums, including e-mail.
  • Event assistant must be neat, clean and well-groomed while performing event hosting duties
WORKING CONDITIONS:  
  • The Events Assistant will be based primarily at Signal Peak Campus, with travel to various venues/campuses within Pinal County.  Assignments may be indoors or outdoors. Weekends and evenings will be required.



EDUCATION: High School or GED  
 
EXPERIENCE: 1 year related experience.
 
Background Verification:  As a condition of employment, all candidates accepting an offer of employment for a full-time, part- time, temporary, student worker, or volunteer position, will be required to undergo a Background Verification.  Employment with Central Arizona College is contingent upon the successful completion of the background verification.  The level the background verification for this position is: Standard level.
