About the Role
The Global Controller will lead Wellington’s global accounting, financial reporting and revenue operations, ensuring accuracy, transparency, and compliance across all jurisdictions. The role is responsible for overseeing global financial operations and driving excellence in accounting processes and reporting. Importantly, this individual will play a pivotal role in developing high-performing finance teams and implementing continuous process improvements to support the firm’s ambitious growth goals. The position reports to the Chief Financial Officer.
The ideal leader has operated successfully at a global level, managing the complexities of an evolving business with growth in new geographies, products and channels. The Global Controller will create a strategic vision and direction for the accounting, invoicing and financial reporting function. This will necessarily entail soliciting input across key stakeholders and ensuring the team fully understands the vision and their role in its execution.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead, mentor and develop a global team with a focus on professional growth, accountability and collaboration
Oversee delivery of global financial results, ensuring accuracy, integrity and timeliness
Manage external audit processes and maintain strong internal controls across all entities
Ensure compliance with US GAAP and international accounting standards, as well as regulatory requirements
Identify opportunities to streamline and automate accounting, reporting and reconciliation processes emphasizing process improvement
Implement scalable systems, policies and controls to support the firm’s global growth
Drive cross-functional collaboration and process improvements to reduce inefficiencies and enhance reporting accuracy
Serve as a trusted advisor to the CFO and firm leadership on accounting, operational and financial control matters
Support firm-level strategic initiatives, including new product launches, fund structures and geographical expansions
QUALIFICATIONS
CPA or equivalent certification required.
Demonstrable (15+ years) relevant work experience in accounting with leadership experience, preferably in asset management, but open to other industries with a global footprint
Demonstrated success in building, leader and developing global teams
Strong technical expertise with US GAAP, IFRS and international reporting requirements
Track record of implementing process improvements and technology solutions (ERP or financial reporting systems)
Superior interpersonal, stakeholder management and communication skills
Commitment to integrity, excellence, and continuous improvement

The base salary range for this position is:
USD 100,000 - 225,000This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered when making compensation decisions, including but not limited to skill sets; role; skills and experience; certifications; and education. This range is an estimate, and further details on salary and total compensation aspects will be shared with candidates during the recruitment process.
Base salary is only one component of Wellington’s total compensation approach. Other rewards may include a discretionary Corporate Bonus and/ or Incentives, if eligible.
