Job Description

We are seeking a strategic and analytical Global Merchandise Planner to support marketplace planning initiatives across a global direct-to-consumer retail business. This role serves as a critical link between global strategy and marketplace execution, helping translate consumer demand, product performance, and business insights into actionable assortment, investment, and planning decisions.

The ideal candidate brings hands-on merchandise planning experience, strong analytical capabilities, and the ability to influence cross-functional partners through data-driven storytelling. This individual will support both day-to-day business performance management and longer-term merchandising initiatives that drive marketplace growth and consumer relevance.


The Basics

  • Schedule: Full-time, 40 hours per week
  • Duration: 5 months
  • Location: Hybrid - Beaverton, OR

Top 3 Required Qualifications

1. Merchandise Planning Experience

  • 3-5 years of experience in a merchandise planning role
  • Direct experience supporting assortment planning, demand planning, inventory planning, or retail merchandising strategies
  • Strong understanding of how product, consumer demand, and marketplace performance intersect

2. Analytical & Strategic Thinking Skills

  • Ability to analyze business performance, consumer trends, and marketplace data to drive recommendations
  • Experience translating complex data into actionable business insights
  • Strong strategic mindset with the ability to identify opportunities, risks, and growth drivers

3. Cross-Functional Communication & Collaboration

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to build partnerships across merchandising, planning, sales, finance, and business teams
  • Comfortable presenting insights and recommendations to stakeholders at various levels

Other Qualifications

  • Strong proficiency with Excel and reporting tools
  • Ability to work independently and proactively as a self-starter
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguous and evolving business environments
  • Experience building reports, dashboards, scorecards, and business reviews
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Experience supporting retail, consumer products, or direct-to-consumer businesses preferred
  • Broader merchandising knowledge beyond planning is a plus
  • Experience with forecasting, assortment optimization, and marketplace analytics preferred
  • Bachelor's degree preferred but not required
  • Interest in automation, AI-enabled reporting, and scalable planning solutions is a plus

In this position, you may have access to client or customer systems, confidential and/or proprietary information or data. This position is onsite and requires you to work closely with other individuals in a collaborative team environment.
