InterSystems Health Connect Integration Developer

Location: Remote

Employment Type: Contract

Role Overview

This role involves the design, development, and support of HL7 and FHIR integrations connecting healthcare systems. The position is responsible for building message transformations, creating routing workflows, and providing support for production integrations. This is a 6+ month contract opportunity created to backfill existing positions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the build, implementation, and technical support of system integration technology, including InterSystems HealthConnect Cloud (IHCC), Epic Bridges, HL7, and FHIR.
  • Provide post-implementation support and fulfill on-call responsibilities as assigned.
  • Maintain working documentation, data flows, and an interface inventory.
  • Analyze IT architecture requirements and system compatibility to implement integration solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional design teams to design process workflows and identify system integration opportunities.
  • Coordinate the implementation of new and revised functions with IT personnel, vendors, and customers.
  • Ensure integration best practices and standard operating procedures are followed.
  • Mentor and assist team members as needed.
Required Qualifications

Education: An Associate Degree is required. A degree in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems is preferred.

Experience: A minimum of 5 years of experience in IT or a related business field is required, preferably within a healthcare provider environment. This experience should include implementation, technical troubleshooting, customer support, and problem-solving.

Certifications: Epic Bridges certification is required.

Technical Skills:

  • Intersystems HealthConnect Cloud (IHCC) - required
  • HL7 standards and integration architecture
  • FHIR
  • Web Services
  • Regular expressions
  • IP protocols
  • File transfer standards (FTP, SFTP)
Preferred Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems.
  • Certification as an InterSystems Health Connect Specialist.
  • Intermediate knowledge of CI/CD pipeline code promotion workflows.
