Inventory Strategist - Vogtle 1&2
JOB SUMMARY
This position provides Inventory Control and Materials Management support of Southern Company Nuclear Materials and Warehouse Operations. Employee will be responsible for development, implementation, and monitoring of strategic inventory initiatives such as Inventory Optimization, Parts Sharing and Technology deployment in support of established goals for Inventory Management and Warehouse operations. This position will be responsible for working closely with site Material Supervisors, Site Supply Chain Management Managers, Category Managers, Engineering, Maintenance and Operations, to ensure that sufficient inventory is available at the best value while balancing risk and investment. The expectation of the position will be to support and promote Safety, Compliance, Customer Service, and Team initiatives in the workplace.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
• Analytical/diagnostic assessment skills are a plus
Experience
• Previous experience with material management & inventory fundamentals desired
• Power Generation, plant systems equipment, and maintenance experience desired
Knowledge and Skills
• Demonstrated problem solving and analytical skills to evaluate and establish inventory parameters and daily inventory transactions
• Working knowledge of inventory analytics and forecasting/modeling concepts
• Technically skilled in the use of SQL, Excel and Access and Maximo
• Communication and interpersonal skills to deal effectively with customers and suppliers
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
• Ensure compliance with SCM procedures and goals
• Travel up to 15% of the time requiring overnight and out of town stay
• Partner with various Category Managers to provide materials and warehouse liaison support and synergy with sourcing strategy
• Ensure departmental compliance with all policies and guidelines
• Interface with work management processes of daily (POD), refueling and forced outage; support Outage Control Center and/or Maintenance Support Center
• Serve as on-call duty rotation for Supply Chain fleet
• Provide assistance as needed for Site Supply Chain Manager
• Interface with Material Supervisors and Inventory Strategist across Nuclear and Generation to identify criticality of stock items, evaluate min/max levels, and item descriptions and ensure Maximo data integrity
• Provide training to customers as required for Inventory Management and Technology enhancement to warehouse operations
• Work closely with Materials & Supplies Accounting to resolve inventory discrepancies and process concerns
