Position Summary
Abacus Solutions Group is seeking a Tier 2 Field Service Engineer Journeyman to provide on-site IT support in a federal environment. This role supports end users with hands-on troubleshooting of computers, peripherals, and network connectivity. This is a customer-facing position requiring strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in an office setting.
Responsibilities
Provide Tier 2 technical support for desktops, laptops, printers, and peripheral devices
Install, troubleshoot, service, and repair personal computers and related software
Support basic network connectivity and hardware issues
Connect devices to existing data networks
Maintain trouble logs and documentation in ticketing systems
Provide in-person and remote support to end users
Perform minor hardware and software repairs
Assist users with proper use of hardware and software
Document daily support activities and resolutions
Collaborate with staff and management regarding system needs and improvements
Requirements
1 to 2 years of hands-on IT support experience in a desktop or field service environment
Strong troubleshooting skills in Windows environments
Experience supporting hardware, software, and peripheral equipment
Ability to communicate clearly with non-technical users
Ability to work independently in an on-site setting
High school diploma or equivalent required
Associate degree or higher preferred
Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+ or Network+ are a plus

Must be a US Citizen
Must be able to pass a Federal Background Investigation, obtaining and maintaining Public Trust suitability.
