Java Tech Lead - Backend Development, Agile
Job Description
Our Automotive client is seeking a Java Tech Lead! This role is hybrid with a minimum of 4 days onsite in Torrance.
As a Tech Lead, you will play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional support across digital applications and architecture. You'll help shape meaningful digital experiences that enhance our customer journey and drive innovation across our platforms.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Leading the development of large-scale enterprise applications and backend systems.
- Providing hands-on technical leadership in architecture, development, production support, and solutioning.
- Designing and implementing microservices and enterprise integration solutions using technologies like Kafka, JMS, and Red Hat AMQ.
- Building and deploying containerized applications using Docker, Kubernetes, or Red Hat OpenShift.
- Supporting serverless architectures and cloud-native solutions, particularly on AWS.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams using Agile methodologies.
- Applying DevOps practices for continuous integration and deployment.
- Ensuring high-quality code through object-oriented design, design patterns, and modern development techniques.
Requirements:
- Education: BS/MS degree in Computer Science or related field or similar work experience
- 5-10 years in enterprise application and backend development.
- 3+ years in a senior technical role (e.g., Tech Lead, Team Lead).
- Proficiency in Java/J2EE and frameworks like Spring Boot, Spring Integration, JPA, and Hibernate.
- Experience with AWS and other public cloud platforms.
- Knowledge of RDBMS, NoSQL databases (e.g., DynamoDB), and cloud-native data solutions.
- Familiarity with container orchestration and deployment tools.
- Strong understanding of software architecture principles and modern IT trends.
- Agile development and DevOps toolchain expertise.
Nice to Haves:
- Experience in the automotive industry.
- Proficiency in Python and exposure to AI/ML frameworks.
- Relevant professional certifications.
