Job Description

Job#: 3034161

Job Description:

Junior Systems Admin

Location: San Francisco, California (Hybrid)- 3 Days a week onsite

Employment Type: Contract

About the Role

A motivated, early-career technologist is sought to join a Retail Service Delivery team supporting in-store technology. This role is hands-on and highly collaborative. You will help validate and certify new store hardware, coordinate with vendors, run tests on incoming devices, and document results so store deployments are smooth and reliable. This is a growth opportunity for an individual eager to develop into a more technical engineering path.

What You’ll Do
  • Coordinate hardware certification efforts for new or updated store technology: track requirements, timelines, and readiness status.
  • Partner with vendors: schedule and run meetings, follow up on deliverables, and keep workstreams moving.
  • Collect and review hardware specifications, confirm test criteria, and ensure all required inputs are captured before testing begins.
  • Receive and evaluate test units: execute test checklists, validate functionality, identify issues, and document results.
  • Create and maintain clear documentation (test steps, results, runbooks, and handoff notes) to support repeatable certification and smoother deployments.
  • Support device management workflows for Apple/iOS devices and contribute to operational improvements or automation as you ramp up.
What We’re Looking For (Must-Haves)
  • 1–3 years of experience in IT support, endpoint support, retail/store tech support, lab/testing, or a similar technical operations role.
  • Comfortable owning a process end-to-end, including tracking, follow-ups, documentation, and delivery.
  • Strong communication skills to run vendor calls, ask questions, and drive action items to closure.
  • A hands-on troubleshooting mindset and willingness to learn in a fast-moving environment.
Nice-to-Haves
  • Experience with hardware evaluation or testing, such as for devices, peripherals, or POS-related components.
  • Exposure to Apple/iOS device ecosystems and Mobile Device Management (MDM) concepts or tools.
  • Familiarity with retail or store technology environments.
  • Basic scripting or automation curiosity (e.g., PowerShell/Bash).

We are an equal opportunity employer and welcome applications from all qualified candidates regardless of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, or veteran status.
