Lab Technician

Intermediate Lab Technician 1 (Production Lab Testing)

This role is part of our Land O'Lakes, Inc., Purina Animal Nutrition business helping our network of local cooperatives, independent dealers and other large retailers serve producers, and animal owners throughout the United States. Through industry -leading R&D and committed partnerships, we innovate the nutrition products and practices that unlock the full potential of every animal for a healthier, more productive life.

The lab technician is responsible for performing routine testing, preparing samples, and operating analytical equipment while maintaining a clean, organized laboratory environment. Accurately records data, calibrates instruments, and works closely with quality and production teams to ensure results meet regulatory and internal standards.

Shift:

6:00AM to 2:30PM Monday-Friday. Occasional overtime depending on production or lab needs.

Pay: $22.70/hour


Qualifications:

Required:

  • High School Diploma or GED and 1+ laboratory experience or chemistry background
  • Strong written and oral communication skills, self-motivated, detail orientated, and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Able to interpret results of testing for accuracy, reasonableness, compliance with specifications, etc. and to perform simple problem-solving tasks
  • Able to execute with focus and accountability, lead and embrace change, demonstrate agility
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

Preferred:

  • Associate's degree in science-related field
  • Experience working in NIR or LECO systems, and wet chemistry testing
  • Laboratory experience in the Dairy or Animal Food Industry

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent movement including walking, standing, bending/stooping, turning, twisting, pushing, pulling, raising arms, lifting, climbing and other active movements
  • Performing duties while wearing personal protective equipment
  • Candidate will likely spend 75% or more of the shift on their feet performing tests and inspections
