Drive the transformation of our operational practices from on-premises to cloud technologies. You will lead a diverse, global team of cloud engineers, ensuring efficient cloud operations while fostering skill development. Your leadership will be instrumental in maintaining a highly available, secure, and cost-effective cloud environment.This role will also involve working closely with cross-functional IT teams to streamline infrastructure deployments, enhance operational efficiency, and support cloud migration and modernization efforts. You will act as a technical mentor, providing guidance while ensuring the team maintains high professional standards.
Job Description
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and mentor a team of cloud engineers, fostering professional growth and technical expertise.
- Collaborate with IT leadership to align cloud strategies with business objectives.
- Develop and implement best practices for cloud operations, security, and cost optimization.
- Assist managing cloud tools and through the application life cycle process.
- Assist architect with building cloud solutions that power the business.
- Support incident response and troubleshooting of cloud-related issues.
- Oversee the maintenance and operation of Azure cloud infrastructure, ensuring high availability and reliability.
- Develop and document standard processes and procedures.
- Drive cross-team collaboration, ensuring smooth communication between cloud teams, network, security, and application teams.
- Participate in and assisting managing an on-call rotation.
- Always maintain a professional demeanor. Consistently interact professionally and work productively with all levels of Medline employees. Follow Medline’s Code of Ethics and other corporate policies.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or other related field.
Certification / Licensure
- AZ-900 (Azure Fundamentals), AZ-104 (Azure Administrator), or similar.
Work Experience
- At least 7 years of experience working with IT infrastructure.
- At least 4 years of experience in cloud engineering, cloud operations, or IT infrastructure.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
- Hands-on experience managing and troubleshooting Azure infrastructure (Compute, Networking, Storage, Security)
- Strong knowledge of Azure Networking (VNet, NSG, Load Balancers, ExpressRoute, Private Link)
- Strong experience with Azure infrastructure, including Compute (VMs, App Services), Networking (VNet, NSG, Load Balancers), Storage (Blob, Files), and Security (RBAC, Azure AD, Defender for Cloud)
- Experience building and supporting mission-critical infrastructure for critical applications
- Experience writing Terraform modules, policies, and custom providers
- Experience with Terraform, Bicep, ARM Templates, or Ansible for cloud provisioning
- Knowledge of CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins)
- Experience with Docker and Kubernetes
- Hands-on experience with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights for troubleshooting
- Experience with Azure cost optimization and FinOps strategies (aligning with ongoing SKU Right Sizing and Remediation projects)
- Ability to lead incident response and troubleshooting of cloud-related issues
- Experience with Active Directory Domain Services (ADDS)
- Experience with Windows and Linux Server Systems
- Experience and knowledge with databases and storage devices
- Experience and knowledge of change control and security best practices
- Experience with public cloud infrastructure
- Excellent troubleshooting and critical thinking skills
- Demonstrate the willingness and ability to improve performance and/or capabilities across all areas of responsibility utilizing formal and informal training
- Consistently demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills

The anticipated salary range for this position:
$115,440.00 - $173,160.00 AnnualThe actual salary will vary based on applicant’s location, education, experience, skills, and abilities. This role is bonus and/or incentive eligible. Medline will not pay less than the applicable minimum wage or salary threshold.
