Summary:
The Lead Occupational Health Technician is primarily responsible for the successful daily operation of all clinical activities and coordination of health-related services for Pardee Urgent Care’s business and industry clients.

Summary:
The Lead Occupational Health Technician is the key and vital position communicating daily with the Business and Industry clients as well as interacting with the employees of the clients in a professional manner. 


Responsibilities:

  • Manages, greets and checks in patients from business and industry clients.  

  • Prepares documentation and completes necessary paperwork for care for client patients, including for worker’s compensation. Finalizes charges and coding related to business and industry billing. 

  • Communicates with third party vendors to facilitate claims and coverage, such as for worker’s compensation. Refers patients based on provider recommendation and payor stipulations.  

  • Coordinates services as directed by client representatives. Provides excellent customer service to representatives with prompt updates and effective documentation/communication. 

  • Communicates with patients in a timely and effective manner regarding their care. Patiently and clearly explains practice policies and procedures using cultural competency and active listening. 

  • Documents care into electronic medical recordkeeping system (EMR). Ensures completion of necessary documentation and forms.  

  • Collects and prepares testing specimens as needed for transport to offsite laboratory. Follows appropriate regulatory process for proper testing for business and industry client contracts and expectations. Notifies clients of test and lab results. 

  • Maintains and monitors consumable supplies and medications for effective ongoing clinical operations.  

  • Promotes a safe, clean and secure clinical environment for all, including the application of standard precautions and principles of infection control. 


Responsibilities:
Working with the Occupational Health Nurse, Medical Director and Business/Industry Director, this position will be primarily responsible for the successful daily operation of all clinical activities and coordination of health related services for client-employers. Provides supervision of Occupational Health Technicians.



Other information:

Hired applicants will be expected to obtain Department of Transportation (DOT) drug screen and blood alcohol testing (BAT) certifications. Training and certification opportunities will be provided by the organization. 

Required:  

  • High school diploma or equivalent 

  • Must hold a current Medical Assistant certification. Accepted forms of the credential are:  

  • Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) as issued by the National Healthcareer Association (NHA) 

  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) as issued by American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) 

  • Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) as issued by the American Medical Technologists (AMT) 

  • Medical Assistant (NCMA) as issued by yjr National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) 

  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) as issued by the American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA) Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification 

Preferred: 

  • Some experience in a similar role 


QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Current Medical Assistant Certification (AAMA, CMA, AMT RMA, RHA CCMA or NCCT NCMA)

Preferred:

  • Some experience within a similar role.
