National Grid is hiring a Lead Program Manager for our Emergency Planning - Electric Department in Upstate New York. This hybrid role can be based in Albany, Buffalo or Syracuse.

The Role

The Lead Program Manager will work across all areas of the business to develop and implement planning and response procedures for, and in response to, operational disruptions within the framework of company policy, national, and regional regulations and protocols.

What You'll Do

* Translate US Emergency Planning policy into processes and procedures that drive greater quality and awareness for National Grid, ensure compliance with regulatory and internal standards, and develop a culture of emergency preparedness
* Interface regularly with Regulators, State Emergency Management officials, County and Municipal Emergency Services, and represent National Grid in regional and national mutual assistance programs and activities
* Implement benchmarking for Electric Emergency Response Plans, Mutual Assistance Policy, and other supporting program documents to maintain the local emergency planning capability and enhance safety, compliance and operability
* Provide support for employee awareness, exercise and training activities
* Ensure process and policy consistency across U.S. Jurisdictions
* Work collaboratively with Legal, Finance, and Regulatory Affairs to develop external and/or executive reporting

About You

* Bachelor's degree preferred
* 5+ years' experience within the utility business required
* Proven experience leading a multi-disciplinary team of technical program and project managers toward the successful completion of improvement initiatives required
* Experience managing multiple and complex activities associated with project work required
* Detailed knowledge and understanding of the regulatory issues affecting the industry required
* Demonstrated experience influencing stakeholders of all levels required
* Ability to make occasional overnight travel outside the normal work area required
* Valid driver's license required

More Information

Salary

$121,000 - $142,000 a year

This position has a career path which provides for advancement opportunities within and across bands as you develop and evolve in the position; gaining experience, expertise and acquiring and applying technical skills. Candidates will be assessed and provided offers against the minimum qualifications of this role and their individual experience.
