Position Title: Lead Software Engineer

Job Description:

Revitalize and provide robust support for a critical application integral to Fixed Income investors, known as the Fixed Income Analytics Risk Management Systems (FARMS). This application poses a high level of complexity with intricate business logic, extensive mathematical computations, and strict adherence to Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and system availability standards. Use solid technical foundation to actively collaborate with business users, particularly the Global Risk & Analytics team. Lead tracks of work involving high complexity, mission critical AWS-based java services and data applications. Lead the delivery of high-quality business solutions, including participating in architecture, design, implementation, testing, deployment, and support. Be a thought partner to the Global Risk & Analytics team working directly with Quantitative analysts. Design, prototype and code new software components and applications based on functional specifications across the full stack services, web clients, infrastructure, and back-end. Coordinate with analyst teams and vendors to execute test plans and provide support during user acceptance testing. Modify and enhance existing systems to incorporate new functionality and to optimize them for performance. Author technical design and support documentation. Position is fixed location based in Boston office; however, telecommuting from a home office location may also be allowed.

Job Requirements:

Requires a Master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Quantitative and Computational Finance, or a directly related field plus four (4) years of software development experience using object oriented and functional designs to build fault-tolerant, production-ready systems. Experience must include:

Four (4) years of experience in each of the following (experience may be gained concurrently):

  • Software development supporting rapid paced delivery using the following languages: Java (11 or higher) and Python
  • Setting up, configuring, and maintaining CICD pipelines using Jenkins
  • Modifying and enhancing existing systems to incorporate new functionality and optimizing them for performance
  • Designing, prototyping and coding new software components and applications based on functional specifications across the full stack services, web clients, infrastructure, and back-end
  • Automating build, test, and deployment process to streamline the development lifecycle
  • Coordinating with internal teams and external vendors to execute test plans and provide support during user acceptance testing
  • Analyzing and optimizing complex SQL for retrieving data from diverse databases to generate reports
  • Authoring technical design and support documentation for all projects

Two (2) years of experience in each of the following (experience may be gained concurrently):

  • Experience developing application software in the quantitative risk management field.
  • Working with and coordinating development stages with Risk Management and Quantitative teams
  • AWS Cloud computing, including S3, AWS Batch, EC2, ECS, Managed RDS, and CloudFormation

Will accept a Bachelor’s degree plus seven (7) years of software development using object oriented and functional designs to build fault-tolerant, production-ready systems role in lieu of a Master’s degree plus four (4) years of experience.

40 hours/week, 9:00am-5:00pm. Salary: $179,000.00 - $185,000.00 /year. (Multiple Positions Available)
