Reporting to the AVP of Loan Origination, the Loan Officer is responsible for reviewing loan applications that could not qualify for a systematic loan decision in accordance with lending guidelines, as well as all systematically decisioned loan applications. Underwriting of each decision must be completed within the defined service level standard for the channel and/or queue in which the loan application was originated. Loan Officer is responsible for loan decisions up to $50K unsecured and $75K secured for new and existing member renewals and modifications of existing loans. The Loan Officer works with team members and other key stakeholders to further company goals by providing cross sell opportunities and developing new, innovative ideas to improve efficiency and further departmental growth. The Loan Officer is responsible for assessing credit risk and determining if risk is acceptable based on credit union guidelines.

Essential Functions:• Evaluate and analyze the loan application’s risk and provide an appropriate lending decision within the lending guidelines.• Cross-sell opportunities during the underwriting process to ensure the best application decision is made to meet departmental goals and objectives.• Ensure all underwriting complies with federal and state rules and regulations and credit union policies.• Effectively access and interpret member information via Loan Origination system and Symitar computer systems.• Evaluate and verify information supplied on consumer loan applications verifying member information to meet underwriting guidelines.• Review all system approved applications, assign necessary stipulations and determine all necessary documents.• Work closely with leadership on resolutions for complex loan applications, while maintaining credit union guidelines.• Coach and mentor branch staff and other credit union team members on all aspects of consumer lending • Facilitate new hire Branch MSA classes pertaining to all aspects of loan origination processes and procedures.• Flexible/adaptable in a fast-paced environment

Job Qualifications
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future.
Required Minimum Qualifications:• High School Diploma or equivalent. • Extensive understanding of financial ratios, credit reports, credit cards, loan products, loan documentation, loan underwriting and the lending regulatory arena.• 2+ years’ experience in a consumer lending role at a Credit Union or Financial Institution. • Interaction with multiple business units, including but not limited to: Branch Delivery and Loan Consultants. • Working knowledge of Reg B, Reg Z, FCRA, and Banking Regulations as they apply to consumer lending. • Must be a self-managed, self-starter capable of balancing multiple tasks and proactively prioritizing work under challenging conditions.• Strong quantitative, analytical reasoning, critical and strategic thinking skills.• Strong verbal and written communication skills.• Proficient in the use of office productivity technology, such as Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.• Familiar with current competitive, economic, and regulatory environment of credit unions, banks, and consumer finance operations.• Must be available to work a rotating 6-day schedule (Monday - Friday) with hours between 8:00 am and 6:00 pm and from 8:30 am until 1:00 pm on Saturday.• Complies with all Credit Union policies and procedures including those related to Bank Secrecy Act regulations.
Preferred Qualifications:• Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, or a related field of study.• Previous underwriting, loan processing and branch operations experience.• Previous experience with Meridian Link Consumer Loan Origination System, Symitar and Teams. • Knowledge of Delta Community Credit Union procedures and policies.• Ability to work at various branch locations to assist with all aspects of consumer loan originations
